footprint × pitch × 1.12 ÷ 100, rounded up
Pitch adds surface: a medium roof has about 18% more area than its footprint. The 1.12 covers overhangs, and a square is 100 sq ft of roof.
squares × rate × height factor
The rate is our guide installed price per square for the material. Two stories add 8%, three add 16%.
